Cicerone: “I am an avatar, an interpersonal transdisciplinary researcher, and I guide you through a rich archive of self-monitoring images. 10 million images were captured during the research project "17 Volcanoes" (2015-2017) at the Future Cities Laboratory, Singapore. After two-thirds of the project, the Singaporean authorities declared it ‚failed'. I even heard the term 'Happy Research' behind closed doors. This sparked my interest. I explore the research and travel behavior between being an expatriate, an explorer, and a follower myself, and I examine the quantities and qualities of homework and fieldwork. With Simone Weil's "Fabriktagebuch" in mind, I write the logbook of the project, navigating through the abundance of digital images while reflecting on the working and living conditions of the 21st century.”
