The seminar week will lead us to Venice. More precisely to the “Bohemian Pavilion”, a warehouse off Canale Grande which was formerly used to store bohemian glass. Today the warehouse stands empty, waiting for new use. We will bring a small fleet of boats over the Alps and use them to sail the lagoon.
We will learn how to sail, make knots and catch and cook mussels. We will ride along the Lido on bikes. We will clean the Bohemian Pavilion. We will visit the Biennale and look at buildings by Carlo Scarpa.
We will reenact the almost forgotten form of the Bohème, the avant-gardes which prospered during the 19th century and aspired to make the world better.
In collaboration with Biennale Urbana, Florian Dombois (ZHdK) and Stefan Neuner (UdK Berlin)
Special guests: Lara Almarcegui, Stefano Graziani
