Neighborhood - Reflections on an Exhibition

The Swiss Pavilion with the title “Neighbours” for the 2023 Architecture Biennale is curated by Karin Sander and Philip Ursprung. The topic originates in the fact that the Swiss Pavilion, by Bruno Giacometti is sharing a wall with the neighboring pavilion of Venezuela by Carlo Scarpa. The spatial proximity of the two buildings from the 1950s raises questions about the meaning of neighborhood. While the lecture in fall 2022 dealt with the the process of conception and realization of the exhibition, the lecture on fall 2023 reflects on the results, lessons and critical reception.
