The course is organized in conjunction with a series of dialogues, organized by the chair of Professor Ursprung, which will take place at the Cabaret Voltaire on approximately four Thursdays (6 pm) during the fall term. Internationally known architects and artists, who work at the intersection of architecture and art, will be invited.

The course attempts an introduction into the topic, discussions of the architects and artists invited to the Cabaret Voltaire and evaluations of theoretical texts dealing with the intersection of architecture and art.

Details of the program will be published on the website of Professor Ursprung's chair.

Besides attending the discussions at the Cabaret Voltaire, we prepare for the series of dialogues in preliminary discussions. The course will comprise eight evenings (including preliminary discussions at the ETH Hönggerberg, from 4.45-6.15 pm, and four evenings at the Cabaret Voltaire, 6-approximately 8 pm).

The relevant reading assignments will be ready for download from the chair's website at the beginning of the semester.

One short oral presentation on an artist or an architect, reading short texts, as well as one short written response to one evening at the Cabaret Voltaire are required. The details of the program, the texts, and the topics for presentation will be published on the website of Professor Ursprung's chair.

A preliminary discussion will take place on Thursday, 20 September 2012, 4.45-6.15 pm. at ETH Hönggerberg. If you wish to participate in the course, this preliminary discussion is compulsory.
